Winter Travels: Hugo, Prop Hunting & More!

Thank you for joining us as we transition from Penny The Photo Lounge to Penny & Co!

Penny, being our first creation has allowed us so much freedom. We quit our day jobs to be apart of love stories and events which has allowed us to peruse our love for adventure. We spend our off season traveling in our 1973 motorhome. The last few months Chris and I have been travelling through the Southwestern part of the United States. In Phoenix Arizona, by pure luck, we stumbled upon Hugo, the newest addition to our Photo Booth family. When we found Hugo he was no longer a Photo Booth and was missing his sign and equipment. After a little Facebook and Instagram stalking we found the old owners of Hugo. Contacting them via the inter-web we found out they lived in Colorado and still had the sign and some equipment.  This new information changed our trip of wandering to a trip of pursuit. We set out to Colorado gathering pieces to complete our photo booth family.

Hugo!

Our travels took us through many city's with Albuquerque New Mexico standing out as one of the best! Old Route 66, now known as Central runs right through the heart of the city. Old neon hotel signs, quirky shops, and antique stores line the once poppin' street of Route 66. My parents have always been in the antique business and I totally hold them responsible for my love of all things vintage. They actually helped us find most of the props we used last year for Penny! We spent the entire day, to our dog Bammer's disaproval shopping the local "indoor flea markets", looking for the most unique treasures Route 66 had to offer. From handmade Boa's, 1950's war memoribilia, to a pair of awesome hulk hands, route 66 did not disappoint. To date, Albuequerque has been one of the best places to shop for vintage treasures.

After enduring 2 degree nights in snowy Colorado, we finally made it to meet Patrick, the original builder of Hugo. Patrick and Kerri now own a business called Colorado Caravan. They have an awesome shop where they are currently revamping old Airstreams for a 1950's motor lodge. There we picked the biggest missing piece to the puzzle, a beautiful, hand crafted, 7ft long photos sign.

With the newly acquired props and sign our motor-home was starting to look more like a cargo van then a home. It was a no brainier, our next stop was back to Phoenix to unload. We arrived back in Phoenix earlier today and were so excited to see Hugo all polished up ready for the coming season. We unloaded all of our amazing finds into Hugo gaining back our living quarters. Only a few more days before we begin our route back to Sacramento. Our last stop along the way, the Photo Booth Expo in Las Vegas Nevada.

Never fear Hugo is almost here!
